There a couple methods of field research that could expound on my research. One of those methods would be interviewing. I could talk to politically involved people such as Butch Otter (Gov of Idaho), Jeff Church (mulit-campaign manager), Wyane Hoffman (political PR), Lucie Willits (political PR).....or others and ask thier opinion on the two party system and if it is effect with today's issues. I would ask their opinion on how that system is effecting the current presidential election and if it is not being beneficial - what would need to change?
Another good method would be to survey my intended audience to see what their current opinion is on the issue of success within the two party system. I could use that information to stronger influence my ideas or to further more prove my ideas if the majority agreed with me.
And obviously - observation is a great method for my research. Just observance in the news and with congress. That is a good way to collect current data.

I like the interviewing angle...it has been quite a few years since I was really involved in the election process. I pay attention, but haven't had time to devote to particular candidates like I did before I had kids. I agree with your position, too. The 2-party system leaves too many voters without a voice.
That is cool you want to interview the governor of Idaho. That will definetly be a very credible source.
Ya being out of government class in high school i truly haven't had time to pay attention to the political issues but i do agree with there being issues with the two party system
