Out of the topics below, I have decided to write my paper on the effect of political parties in America.
In chapters 1 and 2 of The Bedford Researcher, it went into details of how to narrow your topics. I first brainstormed ideas for my topic and then made a cluster of my interest, hobbies, and school major and realized that a large majority of things written down were politically based. I then made a political cluster including education topics, political elections, and popular issues in the media today and as I did this I realized that I had a democratic and republican view on each topic. It was interesting to me that two groups could be so different on funding and moral issues and yet they are the primary voice for opposing sides of almost every issue. I started to question what effect these oppositions had on our government and economy today.
I grew up in a intimidate family of politics; my dad was the first generation to run for office. Fox news or talk radio was always blaring in the background at our house. I learned first hand the excitement of being “in the loop” during political campaigns while also feeling the devastation of losing an election you worked and dedicated years to.
I have saved websites in my del.icio.us account to help research these issues and I have started brainstorming specific problems due to political parties. I am excited to research and explain this topic more as I continue to explore these issues.

I always interested in hearing about how the different parties act and believe it seems to vary so much at times. I would want to see how someone who has been at least partly involved in politics sees the parties. It is also amazing to see how they trap each other and have to do something(pass a bill) just to save political face.
That's great that you are going to write about a topic that you are so involved in. It makes it a lot more interesting and a lot easier! That is definitly a debatable, arguable topic. Good luck!
im looking forward to hearing more on what you find. I haven't really decided who i should be voting for and it'll be good to know back grounds and the politics between them
