Deadline #7, HW #1 Reading Reflection

I like reading Everything’s an Argument, I find it interesting and entertaining to read. Chapter 2 talked about Pathos - arguments from the heart. It talked about how we as humans make decisions based on feelings and beliefs. We are not like computers where we analyze everything by cost. It talks about the different ways to arouse feelings in someone in order to have them think or act the way you want them to. It talks about using emotion to build bridges and using emotion to sustain arguments and also using humor to persuade someone’s process of thinking. Chapter 3 talks about Ethos - arguments based on character. It talks about taking advice and how people determine who they will and won’t take advice on decisions from. It talks about crediting some opinions over others and why we do that.
